The Transcend Approach

No-Prep Veneers

The most conservative transformation we offer. No drilling, no enamel removal, no compromise. Just hand-crafted porcelain, bonded to your natural teeth, and a smile that changes everything.

How We Work

Our Approach to No-Prep

Most practices approach no-prep veneers as a shortcut: skip the preparation, bond something thin, hope it looks okay. We approach it as the highest expression of our craft. If you can create something beautiful without altering the tooth at all, you've mastered the fundamentals.

Every no-prep case at Transcend begins the same way: Dr. Edher studies your face. Not just your teeth, but your lip line, your facial symmetry, the way light catches your smile when you laugh. This is the foundation of our design philosophy. The veneers are the final brushstroke, not the starting point.

From there, our ceramists take over. Working from detailed digital designs and in-person shade matching, they craft each veneer by hand, layering porcelain at thicknesses as fine as 0.3mm, building in the subtle translucency and surface texture that make the result indistinguishable from nature.

Our Workflow

How We Do It

Digital Precision

Digital scanning and CAD design allow us to plan veneer thickness and contour with sub-millimeter accuracy. Every fraction of a millimeter matters when you're working without preparation, and there is no room for guesswork.

Material Mastery

We select ceramics that can be pressed or milled to extreme thinness without sacrificing strength or translucency. The material behaves differently at 0.3mm than at 0.5mm, and our ceramists understand these nuances intimately.

In-House Collaboration

Your prosthodontist and ceramist work side by side, refining shade, adjusting contour, evaluating fit in real time. This direct collaboration is what separates a good result from one that takes your breath away.

Candidacy

Who Is a Candidate

No-prep veneers are not a universal solution. They work beautifully when teeth are slightly undersized, spaced apart, or when the goal is to add volume and refine shape without altering what's already there.

When teeth are crowded, heavily restored, or need significant reshaping, a minimal-prep approach may achieve a far better result. We will always recommend what's right for your anatomy, not what sounds most appealing on paper.

This honesty is part of the Transcend experience. We'd rather tell you no-prep isn't right for you and design something that's perfect, than force a technique that compromises the outcome.

Common Questions

Good to Know

What are no-prep veneers?

No-prep veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells bonded directly to your teeth without removing any enamel. Because no tooth structure is altered, the process is entirely reversible, and your natural teeth remain fully intact beneath the veneer.

How are no-prep veneers different from Lumineers?

Lumineers are a branded no-prep veneer product manufactured off-site from a standardized process. At Transcend, we custom-design every no-prep veneer in-house. Our prosthodontist and ceramists collaborate directly to control shade, translucency, shape, and surface texture at a level that branded systems cannot match.

Am I a candidate for no-prep veneers?

Not everyone is. No-prep veneers work best when teeth are slightly undersized, spaced apart, or when the goal is to add volume and length without significant reshaping. Your prosthodontist will evaluate whether no-prep is the right approach, or whether minimal preparation would achieve a better result for your specific anatomy.

Will no-prep veneers look bulky?

This is the most common concern, and the most common failure of no-prep veneers done poorly. When designed without understanding facial proportions and lip dynamics, no-prep veneers can look thick and unnatural. Our approach starts with smile design: studying your face before designing a single veneer. That is why our results look natural, not added-on.

How thin can no-prep veneers be?

Our ceramists craft no-prep veneers as thin as 0.3mm, thinner than a contact lens. This is possible because of the materials we use and the precision of our digital workflow. But thinness alone isn't the goal. The goal is a veneer that's thin enough to bond without preparation and beautiful enough to transform your smile.

How long do no-prep veneers last?

With proper care, 10 years or more. Longevity depends on the precision of the bonding, the quality of the porcelain, and how well the veneers are maintained. Because we control every step, from design to fabrication to bonding, we optimize for durability at every stage.
