EDUCATION
Dr. Edher earned his dental degree from the University of Sharjah College of Dental Medicine, graduating top of his class and receiving the prestigious “Most Outstanding Student Award.” He then pursued his Master’s in Craniofacial Science and specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he again excelled at the top of his program.
As a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, he holds active memberships in the American College of Prosthodontists, the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, and the Canadian Association of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. He has also represented Canadian dentists and dental students on multiple international platforms.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Edher is an active educator and mentor who is deeply committed to advancing the field of dentistry. He is the Founder of the BC Dental Study Club, Canada’s largest study club, where he regularly teaches and mentors thousands of dentists across North America, helping them elevate their skills and stay at the cutting edge of their profession.
Dr. Edher is also a Clinical Assistant Professor and guest lecturer at the University of British Columbia, where he primarily teaches dentists training to become specialists. He frequently lectures at national and international conferences, sharing his knowledge and expertise with dental professionals worldwide.
BEYOND DENTISTRY
When he’s not transforming smiles or teaching, Dr. Edher is a passionate martial arts enthusiast, he practices jiu-jitsu and boxing and is an avid follower of the UFC. In the summer, you’ll often find him on the water, embracing his love for water sports.
Dr. Edher’s career takes him across the globe as a speaker at international conferences, giving him the opportunity to explore new cultures, cuisines, and experiences along the way. A self-proclaimed foodie, he enjoys discovering new restaurants and indulging in unique culinary adventures. And when it’s time to unwind, he’s guilty of rewatching “The Office” far too often.

Rana Tarzemany
Dr. Tarzemany is a specialist in Periodontics and the Director of the Graduate Periodontics Program at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
Dr. Tarzemany’s meticulous approach to periodontics and surgery is thoughtful and evidence based. She focuses on periodontal health, gum grafting & bone grafting, dental implants, in addition to other periodontal surgical and non surgical procedures.

EDUCATION
Dr. Rana Tarzemany received her dental degree from Azad Tehran Dental School, and completed her graduate studies in the field of combined PhD and Diploma in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is a certified periodontist, a Fellow of Royal College of Dentists of Canada FRCD(C), and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery (DABP).
AWARDS
Dr. Tarzemany has received outstanding recognition and academic achievements for her research which centers around the molecular mechanisms of wound healing and scar formation.
In 2015, she was the first ever Canadian to win the highly prestigious international Volpe Competition that recognizes the best periodontal research from the US, Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico.
Dr. Tarzemany has also been the recipient of numerous prestigious national and international awards including Joseph Tonzetich Fellowship (2012, 2013 and 2014), B.W. Leung Award (2015), Dr. Donald M. Brunette Award (2016) for academic excellence within UBC Faculty of Dentistry, and the Osteology Education Grant for participation in the Osteology Research Academy, Harvard School of Dental Medicine (2016).
TEACHING
Dr. Tarzemany is currently the Director of the Graduate Periodontics Program at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC). This leadership role allows her to oversee the postdoctoral educational program for advanced specialty training in periodontics.
Dr. Tarzemany has been with the UBC Faculty of Dentistry since 2010, began her teaching career in 2014, and graduated with a combined PhD and Diploma in Periodontics in 2018. She has also continued her research, focused on molecular biology of oral wound healing, resulting in several publications in peer-reviewed journals, and winning many national and international awards, including the prestigious Volpe Prize.
PURSUIT OF MASTERY
During her three-year surgical residency at UBC, Rana gained valuable didactic and clinical training in all aspects of periodontal and implant surgeries. Her ultimate goal, as a researcher-clinician, is to make a more meaningful translation of bench-top research into clinical application..
In addition, Rana has authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals, and presented her research findings in various conferences within Canada and internationally.

In her spare time, Dr. Tarzemany likes to spend time with family and friends, enjoying various culinary pursuits, baking, and engaging in thought-provoking discussions around the world, politics, literature, and above all, poetry.

Dr. Taher is a certified specialist in the field of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, with a focus on adult orthodontics. Her practice encompasses a comprehensive range of treatment options, from the time-tested traditional braces to the subtlety of clear braces and clear aligners. The selection of the most suitable method is based entirely on individual needs and preferences.
Dr. Taher’s passion lies in addressing multidisciplinary cases, where a collaborative approach involving dentists and various specialists is essential. This effort is aimed at tailoring precise treatments and crafting smile designs that fulfill each patient’s aspirations. Earning her Canadian board certification was a defining milestone as she completed the Dental Specialty Assessment and Training Program in Orthodontics at the esteemed Faculty of Dentistry, University of British Columbia. This comprehensive training paved the way for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada FRCD (c) Ortho—an accolade that underscores her proficiency and dedication to advancing orthodontic excellence and patient-centered care.
TEACHING
Dr. Taher’s commitment to education and mentorship is evident in her role as a former clinical instructor at UBC Dentistry. Teaching was always an important component of her professional life. Subsequently, she transitioned to private practice, where she continued to demonstrate a deep-rooted commitment to patient’s well-being and transformative orthodontic treatment.
As a member of various professional organizations, including the BC Dental Association, British Columbia Association of orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the World Federation of Orthodontists and with more than two decades of dedicated service as an orthodontist, she remains at the forefront of advancing orthodontic practices and evolving technology.

Marijana Eic
Dr. Eic is a Specialist in Prosthodontics who utilizes modern adhesive concepts to provide minimally invasive dentistry with a focus on restoring function and creating beautiful, natural-looking smiles. Her dedication to continuing education and desire to provide the best treatment for her patients led her to pursue specialty training after practicing general dentistry for over a decade.
She is a lifelong learner and is constantly improving her skillset by attending courses, conferences, and workshops from world renowned teaching centers and instructors. Her pursuit of excellence has become an obsession, and she is thrilled to join the Transcend Team, who share her commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Dr. Eic received her Bachelor of Science with first class honours from the University of New Brunswick in her hometown of Fredericton. She graduated with honours from the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Toronto and worked in private practice for 12 years before returning to school for specialty training. Her passion for comprehensive patient care led her to the University of British Columbia where she completed a 3-year specialty program in Advanced Prosthodontics, which included a Masters in Craniofacial Science. She received multiple awards during her post-secondary studies, including the Schwetz Memorial Scholarship for Restorative Dentistry, the Implant Genius Scholarship in Prosthodontics, the Dr. Christopher Wyatt Graduate Award in Dentistry, The B.C. Society of Prosthodontists Entrance Award in Prosthodontics, and the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada Award for Academic Achievement.
PURSUIT OF MASTERY
Dr. Eic is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a board-certified specialist in Prosthodontics. She is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the British Columbia Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and past president of the West Toronto Dental Society. She strives to offer the highest level of care to her patients, with a focus on function and aesthetics, and is committed to evolving her craft through continuing education, dental meetings, and staying current with the literature.
PERSONAL
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Eic enjoys trips and belly laughs with her husband and two children. Her passions include yoga, hiking, drawing/painting/design, exploring new cities and countries around the world, and most recently, macro photography. She enjoys organizing things into teeny tiny bins, taking care of plants in need, red-bottomed shoes, sun dresses, warm hammocks, and inside jokes.
