Protection Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

We Stand Behind Every Procedure

Our Protection Policy reflects our confidence in the quality of our materials, the precision of our work, and the long-term outcomes we achieve together. It is designed to ensure that when you invest in your smile at Transcend, that investment is protected.

Maintaining Your Coverage

The best results are a partnership. To keep your Protection Policy active, we ask that you maintain a consistent care routine:

  • Complete an annual examination at Transcend Specialized Dentistry
  • Attend a minimum of two professional hygiene visits per year
  • Follow your prescribed oral hygiene protocols
  • Wear any prescribed protective appliances (e.g., night guards) as directed
  • Follow all post-operative care instructions and maintenance recommendations from your dental team

If these requirements are not maintained, protection coverage may no longer apply.

Restorative Coverage

For the first five years following your procedure, restorative work — including crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, and implant-supported restorations — is fully covered for defects or failures related to the quality of dental work performed or materials used. There is no cost for qualifying repairs or replacements during this period.

After five years, any repairs or replacements are provided at standard pricing based on current fees at the time of service.

Material Considerations

Certain materials behave differently over time, and it is important to set clear expectations:

Composite Bonding

Composite resin is more susceptible to staining and wear than porcelain. Repair fees apply to staining and wear of composite bonding from the start due to the nature of the material.

Acrylic Prostheses (Dentures & Implant Overdentures)

Acrylic materials are more prone to staining and wear compared to other dental materials. Normal staining and wear are not covered under this policy. Dentures will require periodic relines as your oral anatomy naturally changes over time — these relines and any related adjustments are provided at standard fees.

Surgical Coverage

For surgical procedures — including implant placement, grafting, and regeneration — we provide coverage for revision within one year of the procedure, provided that:

  • All post-operative care instructions were followed
  • Good oral hygiene was maintained as directed
  • No contributing medical conditions or lifestyle factors affected healing
  • No compliance issues exist

For qualifying cases, there is no treatment fee for revision procedures. Material fees may apply in cases requiring extensive regeneration. Examples of covered situations include implant failure within the integration period, graft failure despite proper post-operative care, and regeneration procedures requiring revision despite full protocol compliance.

What Is Not Covered

This policy is designed to address defects in our work and materials. It does not extend to:

  • Natural biological changes such as gum recession, bone remodelling, or natural tooth wear
  • Damage from external trauma or accidents
  • Cosmetic changes or replacements requested for aesthetic preference
  • Issues arising from not following prescribed maintenance protocols
  • Staining or discolouration from dietary habits or lifestyle choices
  • Alterations or repairs performed by other providers
  • Normal wear beyond expected material longevity
  • Temporary or provisional restorations
