About Transcend

Our Practice

What makes Transcend different from a general dental office?

Transcend is a multi-specialty practice. Our team includes prosthodontists, a periodontist, and an orthodontist. Every case is planned and delivered by specialists, not general dentists. We also have an in-house dental laboratory, which means your restorations are designed and crafted in the same building where you're treated, with direct collaboration between your specialist and our lab team.

Do I need a referral to see a specialist?

No. Patients can come to us directly. No referral is needed. That said, we're also happy to work alongside your general dentist and keep them informed throughout your care.

How do I know which specialist I need?

You don't need to know beforehand. During your consultation, we'll evaluate your situation and recommend the right specialist, or combination of specialists, based on your needs and goals.

Do you treat children?

Our practice focuses primarily on adult patients. In certain cases, such as a child who has broken a front tooth or needs specialist-level care from a prosthodontist, periodontist, or orthodontist, we're happy to help. Our orthodontist's practice is focused on adult orthodontics.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes. Virtual consultations are available for anyone who would like one, and are especially helpful for patients traveling from out of town. We can evaluate your situation, discuss your goals, and develop a preliminary plan before you visit in person.

Do you see patients from outside Vancouver?

Yes. Patients travel to Transcend from across Canada and around the world. Our concierge team can assist with scheduling, accommodations, and transportation to make your visit seamless.

Do you handle dental emergencies?

Our practice is focused on planned specialist care rather than emergency dentistry. If you're an existing patient and experience an urgent issue, please contact us directly. Otherwise, we recommend reaching out to your general dentist for emergency care.

Consultations & Pricing

Your First Visit

What happens at the first consultation?

Your consultation is 60 to 90 minutes, unhurried and thorough. One of our specialists will examine your teeth, gums, and bite, take any necessary imaging, and discuss your goals. You'll leave with a clear, personalized treatment plan.

How much does a consultation cost?

The comprehensive consultation fee is $250, which includes your evaluation and personalized treatment plan. Orthodontic consultations are complimentary. CBCT imaging for implant consultations is included for use at Transcend; a fee applies if imaging is shared with another office.

How much does treatment cost?

Every treatment plan is unique, and costs depend on the complexity of your case, the number of teeth involved, and the procedures required. We provide a detailed breakdown during your consultation so there are no surprises. Third-party financing options are also available.

Will my general dentist be kept informed?

Yes. We update your referring or general dentist after your consultation and throughout treatment so your care is coordinated. Collaboration with your existing dental team is important to us.

Insurance & Payment

Fees and Coverage

Do you accept insurance?

Transcend is a non-assignment office. This means fees are paid directly to us, and we provide the documentation you need to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We're happy to assist with pre-authorizations and claims paperwork.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Yes. We work with third-party financing providers to offer payment plan options. Our team can walk you through the available options during your consultation.

What to Expect Long-Term

How long do veneers and crowns last?

With proper care and regular maintenance, porcelain veneers and crowns typically last well over a decade. Longevity depends on individual factors including oral health habits, bite forces, and regular follow-up care.

How long do dental implants last?

Dental implants are designed to be a long-term solution and can last a lifetime with good oral hygiene and regular maintenance. The crown or prosthesis on top of the implant may need replacement over time, but the implant itself is built to endure.
